Gondole basket created at a 3 day workshop taught by French basketmaker Benjamin Nauleau in August 2024. This form of Ose basket was Sarah’s first exploration into combining hazel with willow. At this workshop Sarah harvested hazel rods, learning how to split, shave and shape hoops and ribs. Glad of previous willow skeining and Ose basket making experience, Sarah created this advanced intricate basket that’s form, size and materials Benjamin attributes to his basketmaking dad Leon.
