I’m now taking bookings for the 9 Willow Day workshops that I will be teaching from September – December 2021 at Coates English Willow on the Somerset Levels.

Courses & News:
Having now taught nearly all of my Spring / Summer Willow Days, mainly fulfilling workshop places for 80 already paid but pandemic postponed lovely people, I will be taking a well earned break during the summer school holidays.
Come September, I will not only be teaching my own basketmaking Willow Days but also finally returning to teach for RHS Rosemoor and at the Somerset Rural Life Museum (for course details please see their websites).
Over the past 10 years I’ve immensely enjoyed teaching thousands of you how to make willow animals. From hundreds of Deer and Hares to Puffins, Dragons and Vicunas, you name a creature and I think we’ve created it in willow! The time has though finally come for me to only hone my and your basketmaking talent. This means that I will no longer be running Willow Animal or Bird Sculpture Days. However, your continued support of my ambition to help keep alive the UK’s commercial basketmaking and willow industry, and in particular to save English basketry techniques, will always be greatly appreciated.
For the Autumn, alongside my existing popular basketmaking workshops I have created a new Zigzag Weave Lampshade Willow Day. With natural materials becoming ever more evident in our homes, it made perfect sense to create a workshop that combines an innovative weave and beautifully coloured willow in a sculptural lampshade.
I will also now be able to dedicate more time to my increasing amount of commissions, especially those that involve whole willow seating furniture and sculptural lighting, and to finally create my heritage basket collection. Exciting times!
