Irish Turf Rush Basket

Irish Turf Basket made in rush that I had newly harvested from Isle Abbotts on the Somerset Levels in June 2020. The recipe for this basket can be found in the lovely book 'Rush Baskety - Weaving with Eight Makers' published in 2018 by The Basketmakers' Association. Based on a basket of about 100 years old that would have been put by the hearth to contain labs of turf for use on the fire, the original basket was found by Olivia Elton Barratt, recipe written by Ruth Slater.
