Hello and welcome to my latest newsletter! For full details of my new September – December workshops and to book please scroll down, but first my news…
Workshops: I’ve got a choice of 8 basket and 2 animal sculpture workshops just waiting for you to book on!
Come and experience willow weaving at my lovely Devon venue this Autumn. I’ve designed for you workshops that are suitable for absolute willow weaving beginners and for those with existing experience.
New for Autumn ’23 is my 2 day Ose Basket workshop that explores creating this beautiful heritage frame basket. And… yes my animal sculpture workshops are back! The demand for my teaching willow reindeer and birds has never gone away. So to support my continuing full time in the craft form that I love, I’ve decided that a decade of willow animal teaching experience needs to be exercised again. Plus of course I want to give you the opportunity to fulfill your animal sculptural aspirations!
One day workshops are £105 (two day workshop £175). This includes all materials and refreshments. In addition the lovely Lost Kitchen www.lostkitchen.co.uk (who are just down the road from our quintessential village hall venue), provide us with a delicious veggie lunch for £12.50. Places are limited to 8 people per workshop. 9.30am – 5.30pm (approx!) and are held at Chevithorne, (15 minutes from J27 of the M5). To book your workshop click here or head to www.sarahlebreton.co.uk/workshops
Gift Vouchers: I also offer full or part payment gift vouchers that make ideal birthday and Christmas gifts for family and friends. Further details can be found on my workshops page and to purchase please contact me
News:
Being at the prestigious Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey earlier this month was truly amazing, not only because for the first time I exhibited and sold my work alongside 200 of the most incredible craft makers, but with 8000 visitors attending, I got to meet so many lovely people. Thank you to those of you who came to see me and to all of you who signed up, welcome to my newsletter, I look forward to teaching you!
Mid Devon Show – 22nd July
Experience an eclectic mix of breathtaking entertainment, food, shopping, music, horticulture and farm life. Held at Knightshayes, Tiverton, (just a 2 minute drive from my regular Chevithorne workshop venue), I will be in the rural skills area demonstrating and accompanied by a range of my baskets. Head to www.middevonshow.co.uk for details and tickets.
MAKE Southwest member
I’m delighted to have just been accepted as a full member of MAKE Southwest. Formerly known as the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, a decade ago I dreamt of one day being an accomplished basket maker and it was this membership that I wanted to achieve. Nowadays in the UK we have no master craftsmanship qualification in basket making, so for me this recognition means a great deal.
Shop & Commissions: My basket collection and willow lighting features can be purchased through my website shop by clicking here. I’m also continuing to undertake rush chair seating, Orkney chair repairs and always happy to consider bespoke commissions. Get in touch!
I look forward to seeing and teaching you, your friends and family this summer and autumn.
Best wishes, Sarah
