May – July Basket Workshop Places Still Available! 20/4/23
Get creative, be inspired and of course make and take home a lovely basket that can be used for many years to come!
For absolute beginners and those with existing willow weaving experience, I’ve designed my range of workshops to enable you to explore this wonderful craft. Whether it’s making a garden basket for your tools and veg, a foraging basket to take out with you on walks or even a Berry basket that can be used as a chic lunch bag, over a one day workshop you will learn how to weave with willow, find out about this wonderful heritage craft form and spend time with a lovely group of fellow makers! For those wishing to really get to grips with making a decent size basket using traditional English weaving techniques, but contemporary styling, I also offer a 2 day basket workshop at which you can make either a decent size shopping basket or log basket.
Having released 12 workshop dates back in early February, I think this was all a bit too soon for many of us, during what was rather an endurance test of a winter, to think about sunnier days and getting out there to make and feed our creative souls. However now Spring is finally here, (hooray!) it’s time to get inspired, reconnected, and gift ourselves or our loved ones a treat.
Having taught for over a decade up on the Somerset Levels, I’ve now moved my main teaching venue to Chevithorne, (EX16 7PU), close to Knightshayes National Trust, Tiverton. Moving to Devon, only 30 minutes more westwards, has enabled me to focus upon being at a lovely venue with full facilities and team up with the amazing Lost Kitchen restaurant who freshly make and deliver to us delicious lunches.
